He was the founding director of the Intel Barcelona Research Center from 2002 to 2014. His research interest focus on computer architecture, with special emphasis on domain-specific architectures for cognitive computing and graphics processors. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide\" style=\"grid-template-columns:21% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"283\" src=\"https:\/\/cocounit.site.ac.upc.edu\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/foto-JuanLuisAragon-e1580241795933.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-147 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/ditec.um.es\/~jlaragon\"> Juan Luis Arag\u00f3n<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Juan Luis Arag\u00f3n is an Associate Professor in Computer Architecture at  the University of Murcia (UMU), Spain. He received his PhD degree in  Computer Engineering in 2003 from the UMU. Dr. Arag\u00f3n has advised 4 PhD  theses and has co-authored 50 research papers in major conferences and  journals. He joined the Computer Science and Mathematics Department of Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona where he is currently working as an associate professor. His areas of interest are computer architecture, operating systems and parallelism. In 2015 he obtained a position as a postdoctoral researcher in the ARCO group. In 2017 he obtained a position as a distinguished researcher at UPC. He is currently teaching several courses at the Bachelor and Master level and advising seven PhD students. He joined the faculty of the Computer Architecture Department at the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2001 where he is currently a lecturer. Since 1994 he is a professor at the Computer Architecture Department in the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya. He received the PhD from UPC in 1996 in the area of declarative programming. He joined the ARCO research group in 2014, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ARCO. He joined the ARCO research group in September 2016 and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at ARCO.
